It is an exciting time of the year for us as
we begin to plan for our 2012 Summer Camp
Program and the 2012 – 2013 School Year. It is
very important for us to have an accurate count
on who will be attending for Summer and Fall.
So, we are asking all families to fill out a new
Child Registration Form and a Commitment
Letters. This will reserve you spot for
the 2012 Summer Camp and the 2012 – 2013 School
Year. Along with the Child Registration
Form and Commitment Letters a $100 registration
fee is due as well.
The three forms and the $100 fee is all due by
Wednesday, Feburary 29, 2012. If
you have not turned in your forms and
registration fee, we cannot guarantee a spot for
your child in the Summer Camp Program or 2012 –
2013 School Year.
We are continuing to grow each month thanks to
many of you. Do not forget about our Referral
Program as we have had two wonderful families
refer Kids Town Learning Center to their friends
and now will receive a week of free tuition.
This is a wonderful program that benefits you,
our families, and Kids Town.
As we move forward please know how important
your child/children are to Kids Town that is why
we continue to seek your input and strive to
improve in all areas. It is very important to us
that we meet your child’s need and go above and
beyond to fulfill all aspects of their
development. Thank you parents for all
that you do to help on a continuous basis.
Respectfully,
Ms. Patti

Dear Parents,
Happy New Year! It is hard to believe that it is
already four months into the school year. As we
look back, we also know how much the children
have changed, and learned, as we remember there
is still a lot more to learn. The children are
settling back into their routine after a fun
break.
As winter continues, for possible school closings
or delays due to weather conditions, any changes
can be found on our website
www.kidstownlearningcenter.net, facebook and
the schools phone answering system.
Parents, it is time to start planning ahead for
the following school year. It is very
important to have a correct count for the
following school year so we have class space and
teachers to teach. Our registration fees will be
due in February as well as handing out
registration forms. We will require the
registration fee to accompany a new fully filled
out updated application. Registration forms are
due for updates every year due to Social Service
requirements.
The Starz Program
The STARZ Program is offering sports
classes right here at our school! There is
still availability in our class and January is a
perfect time to start!
Classes are held every
Thursday at 9:30 am. Families love the
program because it alleviates the burden of
having to drive around after school for an
enrichment activity. The rates are also
very reasonable! You can enroll online at
www.starzprogram.com. Feel free to call
757-641-3705 with questions.
Happy New Year,
Patti & Becky
Happy Holidays
to All
Tis’ the season for giving, we would like to
thank all the KTLC families for their gracious
food donations. The week before Thanksgiving we
delivered several boxes of canned and dried food
to the Food Bank. I know with all your help, we
were able to help provide meals for local
families in need.
Starting around December 1st KTLC will be
collecting items for “Toys for Tots”. Please
place your donations in the area marked in the
front lobby.
Mark your calendars for Tuesday, December 20,
at 3:30 PM is Room 6 and 8 Winter Program and
Wednesday, December 21, at 3:30 PM is room 5 and
7 Winter Program. Following the
performance parents are invited to join in with
their child’s class for a winter party. (Please
see your child’s teacher for details)
KTLC is offering a Parents Night Out on Friday,
December 2 from 6 PM to 9 PM (pizza
and a movie) for $20 per child paid in cash and

November Notes
October was a busy and fun month at Kids Town
with the Parent/Teacher conferences, the Fall
Programs and all the Halloween fun. The children
seemed to really enjoy performing for everyone,
at least most of them did.
The pony pictures and rides and the Scholastic
Book Fair are both fund raisers. Kids Town plans
on using any profits to supplement our
children’s books and computer programs. If you
have any suggestions on books or computer
programs your children really enjoy let me know
and we will check into getting them.
November will bring the fun of Thanksgiving with
all the trimmings. Be on the look out for
Pilgrims and Indians. Also, in November the
entire school will be visiting the Petting Zoo
which will be here on November 15th from 2-4.
This is almost as much for the teachers as it is
for the children.
We will be closing a few days during November.
Veteran’s Day, November, 11 we will be closed
for the full day. You may want to take your
children to the oceanfront for the annual
Veteran’s Day Parade. We will be closing at
11:00am on November 23rd, and then on November
24 & 25, for Thanksgiving.
Kids Town will again be collecting items for the
Food Bank. Drop items in the lobby and we will
be taking them to the Food Bank November 18.
This a wonderful teaching tool for us to help
children with the idea of compassion and sharing
with the less fortunate.
Don’t forget to vote for employee of the month
either on line at our website or in the lobby.
We honor the employee of the month at each staff
meeting and the winner gets a gift card. So if
you feel someone has gone above and beyond
please take a moment and let us know about it.
Kids Town reminds every one to wash your hands
or use the conveniently located hand sanitizer
all around the building upon entering their
child’s classroom. Proper hand washing cuts down
dramatically the spread of illness.
Have a great month and as always please call or
stop in with any questions, concerns or
compliments.
Fall is Here
It’s October, fall is in the air. We
are excited to have so many fun things happening
this month. We have Parent/Teacher conferences
the 17th thru the 21st. This is an excellent
opportunity to speak with your child’s teacher
and find out all the wonderful concepts that
will be introduced to your children during this
school year. The conferences are schedule for 15
minute intervals and we still offer regular
school hours so you do not have to take an
entire day off from work.
Pony Pictures are scheduled for October 21st,
starting at 8:30 am. This are honestly some of
the best pictures I have ever seen taken in a
preschool. The company supplies the vest,
bandana and hat so if you put your little one in
jeans that day I think you will be very happy
with the end results.
Our fall program for rooms 6 & 8 will be on
October 25 at 3:30 and rooms 5 & 7 October 26
the at 3:30. Again we hope this is late enough
in the afternoon so many of you can just leave
work just a little early to the performance
time.
Kids Town is known for going over the top for
setting the mood with decorations for Halloween.
We would like to have the children enjoy it in
the spirit that it is meant as fun, not scary.
Each classroom will have their own Halloween
party and if you would like to volunteer to lend
a hand please let your child’s teacher know.
Please check the school calendar for any up
coming news and information. Kids Town will be
open on Columbus Day even though this is a
federal holiday we have chosen to not close on
this particular day.
We are still offering our referral incentive
program so if you recommend us to family or
friends and they join or Kids Town family you
will receive a week off from tuition.
We will be sending out another parent survey
this month so keep an eye out for it. The first
5 families who respond will receive a $25.00 off
of tuition. We have implemented some of your
suggestion from the response of the last parent
survey.

KTLC Celebrates Children

Spring is in the Air
It is finally beginning to feel like spring. As the weather
changes it might be a good idea to leave a light weight
jacket here so as the weather is warmer in the afternoon the
children won’t get over heated on the playground in a heavy
jacket. Please remember to label everything that your child
brings in, it is amazing how many children have the exact
same jackets.
Please remember when dropping off or picking up if you plan
on staying a few extra minutes you must park in the
designated parking spots to the right. We like to keep the
front area for quick drop off and pick up only.
And remember to always pull up and not block the left lane
which is for exiting.
Our Employee of the month for April was Mrs. Clare.
She has been working really hard with the PreK children in
Room 5A. Mrs. Clare has been working on getting her
students ready for the upcoming Kindergarten school year.
KTLC is happy to have Mrs. Clare as one of theirs.
Kids Town would like to thank the families who referred
children to our school this year. We are still offering our
referral program. If you refer a family and they join us
after 4 weeks of attendants you receive a week of credit.
Scholastic Book Fair
Our Book Fair is Coming!
The whole school is excited about our
upcoming Book Fair. An amazing
selection of books is headed our way!
Link
At the Book Fair you will find the latest
and finest titles for kids, as well as
books of interest to parents.
Mark your calendar for our Family Event
where the whole family can join in the fun.
And, you can contribute books to
your child's classroom library.
The Book Fair is a great way to get
everyone excited about reading. See you there!
Hopping into Spring

Our Employee of the month for March was Mrs. Katelyn Z.
She has been working really hard with the young twos in Room
8. Mrs. Katelyn Z is a great asset to the KTLC family and we
love her dearly.
Kids Town Learning Center Invites you to Mt.
Trashmore, April 30th 9am – 1pm, for the Day of Children
Festival. We will be having a booth with games and
activities for children to participate in. There will be a
lot of other booths with kid friendly information so we
would love to see all of our families on this great day for
family fun. Kids Town would like to thank the families who
referred children to our school this year. We are still
offering our referral program. If you refer a family and
they join us after 4 weeks of attendants you receive a week
of credit.
HELP
One of our students family lost everything in a home fire.
Their daughter is in elementary school and wears a size 7 or

Seasons
Greetings
I would like to start off by thanking all the family
members, staff and children for such a wonderful fall
program! It was a great success. Our winter program is going
to be held December 16th at 3pm for classrooms 6 and 8 and
December 17th at 3 pm for classrooms 7 and 5 a/b. The
children have been working so hard for the winter program.
It’s exciting to see what they have in store for us. We hope
that you and your family will be able to join us for the fun
and festivities.
We will be hosting a Scholastic Book Fair December 15th thru
17th. We will have extended afternoon hours available on the
16th so that parents may participate in the Scholastic Book
Fair.
It’s hard to believe that the year is almost over! As we
look forward to a new year, it’s time to start planning for
the following school year 2011-2012. We will be sending out
new registration packets along with new parent handbooks.
Please make sure to look over the new handbooks as a few
things have changed. All registration information must be
completely filled out and turned in by February 1st. It is
important to keep in mind that that we are transitioning
from a daycare to a preschool learning center.
We will no longer be collecting the annual enrollment fee in
September. It will now be collected in February along with
your completed registration forms. Your annual enrollment
fee will remain $100. We know that parents paid the annual
enrollment fee in September, but when you pay the enrollment
fee in February, the next enrollment fee will not be due
until February 2012. We would also like to inform parents
that we will no longer be collecting an activity fee nor
will a summer registration fee apply to in-house parents.
Congratulations to Ms. Alison for winning Employee of the
